Agora Internship

Agora Entertainment is always looking for bright and ambitious filmmakers who wish to gain insight and experience through our hands-on internship program. We are dedicated to providing our interns with opportunities to use the latest equipment and technology, to collaborate and network with working industry professionals, and to gain valuable real-world experience in and around our studio and location sets. Interns will be placed according to their personalities and strengths, while receiving guidance in areas of needed growth. Agora makes it a point to utilize interns on every project we produce.

What does Agora hope to achieve with the internship program?

Our ultimate goal is to identify the young, passionate individuals who are able to embrace the Agora philosophy and become part of our extended, or in some cases immediate, family. In addition to gaining assistance with day-to-day operations and production work alike, the internship program should foster filmmakers in their area of interest within the entertainment industry. The internship program really serves as a period for Agora to evaluate you and for you to evaluate Agora.

What are we looking for in an intern?

The ideal intern is eager and quick to learn, with some experience (work, school, or personal) in video/film work. Interns must be able to cooperate with others and communicate clearly, especially if problems arise. The more decisive you are about which area of film production you wish to pursue, the more valuable the internship program will be for you.

What are the interns duties?

Interns assist with basic office tasks, such as office duties and equipment room organization. For each project we produce, we place interns in various departments as observers or assistants to give them exposure to a wide variety of production environments. As you progress through the program you are encouraged to explore the facets of production that interest you such as camera, lighting, or editing, when opportunity to do so arises.

How will we select interns?

We will evaluate applicants' resumes, reels, and applications and hire based on need, which varies based on the number of projects slated for production by Agora Entertainment.

How long is the Internship program?

You will spend 60 Days in the program. After 60 days we may discuss a possible extension of your internship based on your desire and performance as well as our need for interns. We are also willing to accommodate interns who wish to intern for school credit and must spend a specific number of hours working as an intern.

How will we evaluate interns?

After the first 30 days you will have a sit-down review to discuss your performance, strengths and weaknesses as well as your thoughts about Agora and the program. You will be assessed on the quality of your work, communication skills, and ability to learn, among other things. You will also be asked what department or area you would like to explore further. After completion of the internship program an exit interview will be given for a final assessment. This is a great opportunity for intern to make comments or give feedback on the program.
